Product Description

The EVLINK A-Series is an innovative direct-heating electric heater offering significant advantages over conventional PTC heaters from other brands. Thanks to EVLINK’s structural innovations, the A-Series delivers heating power of up to 18 kW, efficiently covering the 10–18 kW power range. Its compact design and smaller footprint compared with other heaters of equivalent power provide vehicle layout designers and thermal management engineers with greater flexibility when integrating PTC heating sources. The A-Series is expected to become a popular choice for passenger cabin temperature control in buses.

Product Description
The heater converts electrical energy from the vehicle’s high-voltage system into thermal energy, transferring it to the circulating coolant. This heated coolant can then flow through the battery thermal management circuit, the cabin heat exchanger, or other approved coolant circuits.

Actual heating performance depends on the entire thermal management system. When evaluating a heater, one must consider not only its rated heating power but also factors such as the type of coolant, flow rate, inlet temperature, pressure drop, piping layout, and the operating status of the heat exchangers. Therefore, the selection of an appropriate heater should be based on the vehicle’s actual operating conditions, rather than relying solely on power specifications.
Applications

High Voltage PTC Coolant Heater HVCH 2KW 5KW 7KW 8KW 200V-800V for Electric Bus, Truck, Construction Machinery, BTMS and Cabin Heating

EV Battery Thermal Management

The heater can warm coolant before it enters the battery thermal management circuit. This supports battery temperature control during low-temperature operation. Battery temperature limits, required heating rate, coolant flow and control strategy should be defined by the vehicle manufacturer.

Electric Vehicle Cabin Heating

For cabin heating, warmed coolant passes through a cabin heat exchanger to provide heat for the passenger compartment. Heating performance depends on both coolant circulation and airflow through the HVAC heat exchanger.

Electric Buses, Trucks and Construction Vehicles

The 15–35kW range is intended for vehicle platforms with substantial heating demand. Suitability for a specific vehicle must be confirmed from its voltage platform, target heat output, available installation space and coolant-system design.

Frequently Asked Questions
1.What does a high voltage PTC coolant heater do?

It uses electrical power from the vehicle’s high-voltage system to heat circulating coolant. The coolant can then transfer heat to the battery system, cabin heat exchanger or another approved thermal circuit.

2.Is the 15–35kW heater suitable for every electric vehicle?

No. It is intended for projects with relatively high heating demand. The correct configuration depends on operating voltage, required heat output, coolant conditions, installation space and control requirements.

3.Can one heater support both battery and cabin heating?

It may support either application when the vehicle coolant architecture and control strategy allow it. Some vehicles use separate circuits, while others use valves or a shared thermal loop.

4.What information is required to select a heater?

Please provide the vehicle type, operating-voltage range, required heating power, coolant type, expected flow rate, inlet-temperature range, installation space, connector requirements and CAN communication requirements.

5.Can the mounting, connectors or control interface be customized?

Project-specific requirements can be evaluated after the installation drawing, packaging space and electrical interface are provided. The final configuration should be confirmed in the approved drawing and technical agreement.
